Brow Lift Surgery in DFW, TX
As we age, gravity and repeated facial contractions begin to take their toll on the skin. This is particularly evident in the forehead, which can become heavily wrinkled and saggy around the area just above the eyebrows.
Brow lift surgery—sometimes known as a forehead lift—can improve the appearance of this part of the face. To request more information about brow lift surgery, call (817) 203-2760 or contact Ms. Jessica Stangenwald online.
What is a Brow Lift?
The brow lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to improve the appearance of the forehead and eyebrow areas of the face. The forehead lift procedure is often performed in conjunction with a traditional facelift , but may also be done alone.
Before undergoing a brow lift, most patients receive a consultation or analysis. During this pre-surgery appointment, the eyebrow and forehead is assessed to determine the best method of treatment and whether or not the patient is a suitable candidate for cosmetic surgery.
How is a Brow Lift Performed?
The forehead lift is a very common type of cosmetic surgery. There are two different types of brow lifts:
- The “classic” forehead lift: During this type of brow lift, a single incision is made that runs from just above the ears to over the length of the hairline. Adjustments are made to the skin and muscle tissue using this incision.
- The endoscopic forehead lift: During an endoscopic brow lift, several smaller incisions are made instead of one larger one. During an endoscopic lift, a small device called a scope is inserted to make the necessary adjustments.
During most brow lift procedures, there is virtually no visible scar as it will be hidden by the hair line. Brow lift recovery typically causes a small amount of swelling and bruising, along with manageable pain. Prescription painkillers are often provided after treatment. Most brow lift patients are able to resume regular activity roughly two weeks after the procedure.
